Development of a performance sensor for skis
Rossignol is developing an integrated ski-mounted device that measures skier performance and connects to a mobile app. Kickmaker supported the product’s design.
Project abstract
◾️ The challenge:
The goal was to design a connected device capable of measuring skier performance in real time—without a battery—while delivering extreme durability to withstand harsh skiing conditions.
◾️ The solution:
Kickmaker supported Rossignol in developing an optimized piezoelectric sensor, a low-energy Bluetooth data transmission system, and an intuitive mobile application.
◾️ The benefits:
An approach addressing three key challenges:
1️⃣ Real-time performance tracking without the need for a battery.
2️⃣ Discreet and highly robust integration into ski equipment.
3️⃣ A smooth user experience with simplified mobile connectivity.
