With this project, L’Oréal is taking a major step forward in the consumer electronics space by developing Perso, an innovative device enabling advanced makeup personalization. Kickmaker’s teams provided their technical expertise to support its development.
Project abstract
◾️ The challenge:
L’Oréal wanted to redesign an early prototype and optimize its industrialization to launch its first consumer electronic device. Perso is a personalized beauty device using AI and data to meet the expectations of tech-savvy consumers.
◾️ The solution:
Kickmaker contributed its expertise to improve product design, stabilize connectivity, and harmonize the tech stack with existing devices. Cost reduction and industrialization work helped accelerate production readiness.

Technical developments
The L’Oréal project is the result of a collaboration between L’Oréal and Kickmaker. As a technology partner, Kickmaker played a key role in:
- Reworking and improving a previous prototype.
- Design and optimization of mechatronic, electronic, and fluidic systems, including connectivity stabilization, coupling improvements, and harmonization of the connectivity stack with other existing devices.
- Cost optimization (Design to Cost) and enhancement of the industrialization package.
- Delivery of a complete industrial dossier, enabling L’Oréal to launch pre-series production ahead of schedule.
