Development of an Automatic Charging Station for AGV
The client wanted to develop a charging station for the first fully automated guided vehicle (AGV) dedicated to automated warehouse. Balyo needed support for the development, and the full industrialization process in China.
Project abstract
▪️The challenge
The development of the charging station had to match the AGV use case and be operational to automatically charge the AGV without any human interactions.
The POC had to be developed and iterated, and the industrial version had to match the robotics and AGV requirements for warehouse automation.
▪️ Solution
Kickmaker developed the POC and design of the charging station, and quickly moved on to the DVT industrial stage.
The robot use case and the testing plan have been developed for Balyo at the manufacturer factory in Xiamen to ensure quality control on the production for the mass manufacturing steps.

A product fully developed by Kickmaker, including the industrial ramp-up. The project has been managed by Kickmaker, which saved time and reduced costs for Balyo.
The results are 500 charging stations implemented in an automated warehouse.
